Ravelry is an on-line community website for knit and crochet crafters. It is free to join, a good source for patterns that are both for sale and free. There are yarn reviews and details. You can set up your own project pages, keep track of yarn, use the help forums. Make friends around the world, in addition to your close friends in the SCA Knit & Crochet group!
Knitting Daily is a website part of the Interweave Knits magazine company. There are interesting articles, sometimes a Knit-Along (known as a KAL) to do a project with others around the country. Video tutorials and an abundance of helpful hints. They also offer an email newsletter.
Craftsy.com offers on-line classes in a variety of crafts including knitting and crochet. Most classes are offered for a small fee, but you go at your own pace and get plenty of advice for a reasonable amount.
AllFreeKnitting.com offers free patterns, tutorials and videos, as well as an e-newsletter.
Knitting Paradise is an on-line forum to discuss topics, get help and offer help.
The Crochet Crowd offers free inspirational resources shared by crocheters around the globe. They host events, Crochet-Alongs (CAL), plenty of project ideas!
On-Line Stores for Yarn and Supplies
WEBS is a superstore of yarn in Massachusetts with a real storefront. They also have a massive website and large inventory, customer reviews by yarn, great customer service, quantity discounts.
Knit Picks is an on-line store offering their own brand of yarns in a multitude of fibers. Patterns, tools, their prices are economical.
